2016 SUMMER SESSION
In this workshop we will focus on generating new work as we think about poems as a process of discovery. There will be a series of exercises meant to spark the imagination and drive unexpected thoughts in new directions. We'll also consider how poems can be a receptacle - places to put things or discover long lost objects or conjure up scenes from the past. Throughout the workshop we will engage in a series of quick writes and have more extended times for writing, with the opportunity to share work and receive feedback. REGISTRATION REQUIRED!

WORKSHOP WITH GEORGE WALLACE
Wallace will lead the group in stimulating exercises based on re-discovering and using imaginative skills that enhance your brain's 'muscle memory’ to result in improved writing. Learn to use wordplay to activate the inherent energy in language and come up with the initial ideas you are looking for to write poems. Imagination-based poetry gives the writer permission to create space for the imagination to explore, invent and roam. $35.00 members, $50.00 non-members. Limited to 12 participants.
